San Diego 2010!

On our way to the beach! The girls are killing some time
watching a movie. After a while the long drive put them to sleep.
We arrived at our condo and were greeted by the buddha statue.
He soon found his way to the closet and we put up some
of our own decorations. Some a bit more beachy. Since our
group was so small this year-only 7 of us-the soda pile was
tiny.
Our first day at the beach was full of sand and water.
Once Leah decided the sand was ok she played in it
just a little bit. Then there is beach babe Abi that loves the
sand and had a good time jumping waves with Daddy.

Happy 4th of July! After a full day at the beach we headed
upstairs for some more playtime and dinner. Leah
loved looking through these binoculars all week. By the end
of the week she was looking through the correct end. Abi
enjoys taking pictures of anything, she got a hold of the camera this
day and took a few shots of her own. I will call this collection "Expressions".
This year we were able to watch fireworks from the pier, they were
amazing! It was really neat to see them over the water.
Leah was not impressed, she had her eyes closed the entire show.

Strawberry picking and Legoland! The girls enjoyed picking
the berries and had a good laugh when Daddy fell over into them.
We love you Daddy! We got the girls faces painted at the park, Abi
chose the mask and Leah chose the butterflies. There were these
pretty little pink flowers that looked liked ballerina's, I thought
they were neat. We all had a good time riding on rides, eating
ice cream and some mild shopping. At the very end of the day a
boat passed where we were standing and music
began to play. When music plays, Abi dances.
There is video at the very very bottom of this post.

Our days at the beach were mostly cool and cloudy with
a little bit of rain. It was a nice change though from the norm.
Our little sand crab was teaching us how to make soup and
make sand meatballs. After a few hours of grouchy
Leah she would decide to cheer up and have a good time.
Grammy had a nice relaxing time
while on the beach, she was able to finish a book and take
her daily naps. Grandad came down and made Abi and Leah their
very own special sandcastle. He finished it just in time before
a wave came and knocked it over. Then Abi modeled over
it for some pictures. This is the day that we felt an earthquake
while down at the beach and Leah almost got a rude awakening by
a sneaky wave. We quickly pulled her away and she stayed asleep.

What do you think people? Think she's got what it takes?
Turn up your volume to hear the music.
