Our Trip to Gramps and Grams!

We took a trip to Grams and Gramps house for two
weeks! While there we drove north to visit with a friend from
college and her adorable family. We also rode a train, bus, and
water taxi downtown all in one day. The kids had a great time at the
Navy Pier Children's Museum. The girls cannot wait to go back to play.

Our first weekend Gramps made a fire to roast
marshmallows and make smores!
This was Abi's second time making smores, she was
really excited to have them again. After the girls had
their bath Grams sang them some lullabies on her guitar.
Leah was intrigued by the guitar and Abi danced for us.
It was sweet.

Later in the week we went to the Brookfield Zoo.
This is the zoo I grew up going to and lived right
next door to for a few years. We stopped at a park us kids
used to play at to have a picnic lunch before
going into the zoo. Leah enjoyed her time in the
butterfly exhibit.

On our down days we played on the swings that
Gramps built for the girls, went swimming or
played in one or both of the barns. We took another
trip north to visit more family and friends at the
Kohls Children's Museum.

We met up with good college friends and their kiddos,
as well as a cousin and her kiddos. Again, we had a
great time visiting and miss them very much!

We met my cousin and her kids at a nearby park and enjoyed
dinner together after. The girls and I along with Mom stayed
at a very nice hotel that night and enjoyed the pool, ice cram
and a movie in our room. It was really special for us all.
The next day we went to Six Flags with our friends
and played at the water park, SO MUCH FUN!!

Back at the folks we visited a dairy farm, here we are
with the calves! So cute!! We had our friends along
with us to make it extra special!

The goats had babies too and they were oh so cute!
Abi's favorite thing to say was " Come here little guy".

The parents are growing lots of veggies on their land
and they had a bunch of tomatoes, really big ones.
Abi was "happy" to pose for this picture. But the
girls really enjoyed picking them and putting them in
the bucket to jar them.

Love the camo hat Abi is sporting! While there Abi
discovered how fun "wooley worms" or caterpillars can be.
We spent a lot of time looking for them in the plants and trees.
So when she saw the tomato worms on the tomato plants she
wanted to pet and hold them too. These worms eat the
tomato and the plants which makes them HUGE! So before Gramps
killed them she would ask to "pet" it. Yes that is a worm
she is holding. EWE!! Little Leah holding one of the many zucchini
on the farm, also huge!
