Trip to Hawaii!

Here we are taking our first trip to Hawaii to
welcome home my brother from his 3rd deployment.
Unkie Adam met us at the airport with some
very pretty Lei's!

After the airport we checked-in to our hotel, which had
an awesome view! Then while waiting for Mom's
plane to come in we went for ice cream and walked
on the beach of Waikiki. Adam too got his feet wet!

The next morning Mom stayed with the girls
while the rest of us went to see the U.S.S. AZ
memorial.

A rusty ladder leading from the Arizona, Andy in front
of the memorial wall. Then we checked out the "Mighty Mo".

The U.S.S. Missouri is the ship where the peace treaty
was signed by Japan to the allied forces, thus ending WWII.
A link to the anchor, next to that is a cigarette
lighter for comparison.
Afterward, we walked the strip and had some
dinner at Duke's. Grams bought Abi a paper doll book and
as you can see she loved it!

Breakfast with the Hula dancers. Each morning at
breakfast there was hula music with a dancer.
Abi finally got the courage to go up there
all by herself and learn the hula, she still
talks about it! There is some video below.

Honolulu Zoo

We went to the zoo for half a day and saw some amazing
plants and animals. This is a Banyan tree. It basically
grows roots from it's limbs and then turn into trunks.

Chasing After the Peacocks

Chasing After the Peacocks

There were so many peacocks running around the
zoo and they let you get close to them too.

If ever you doubt God's creativity of creation a trip to the
zoo is all you need to remedy it. The pictures do not justify
the colors but its the best that I've got.
An AMAZING flower!
I don't remember the name if this tree, but the
colors of the trunk are amazing! There is red, green and orange
on the bark, the entire tree was like this.
If anyone knows I would love to know the name of it.
I think this is a King Vulture. His coloring and intricate
design is why I took this picture. His colors were so bright and
the details were perfect. Sure is an ugly guy but beautiful at the
same time.

The following day we spent some time down at the
beach!
